KHS Science Department

The Kenwood High School Science Department is a dynamic and vital part of Kenwood High School. Kenwood High School is located in Essex, Maryland and is part of the Baltimore County Public School system. The science program is designed to prepare students for further education, for employment, or possibly, for both. Based on a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, the science curriculum provides many electives to supplement the graduation requirements set forth by the state of Maryland and Baltimore County to meet the needs and interests of students.

In order for our students to be successful in the future they must have a knowledge and understanding of the sciences. We are Meeting the Challenge of Leadership for the 21st Century. Feel free to examine the classes we offer at KHS and the faculty who teach them.

The Science Department Goals:

  • Focus on increasing the achievement levels of all students

  • Adapt or enrich the classes to address the learning needs of students with a broad range of abilities
  • Include the teaching of values and emphasis on character education
